The Woodland Collection was created for a friend. She lived in a wooded area and when her grandaughters came for sleepovers, she taught them to recognise the hoot of an owl living in the woods behind her home. Wanting them to hold onto that sweet memory inspired me to do these watercolors for her guestroom. She loves foxes and I love raccoons. And that is how this collection of woodland animals was born.

Sketching the animals as babies was intentional. It reminds us of our potential to grow. We should never despise our small beginnings.
